SmartRules

This branded term refers to logical statements that can be evaluated to true or false, with contingent clinical content.

All rules have at least 4 elements:

Property - element of a health record or observation that can be evaluated by criterion-based logic.
Operator - criterion by which to test the relationship of the property to a value (e.g., equals, not-equals, etc.)
Value - the specific value of the property to test with the given operator.
Logic - connection between multiple property-operator-value clusters (e.g., AND, OR, NOT, nesting)
